Cheese Doodle Cake
by Kirsten
(PA)
I need to make a cake that looks like its covered in Cheese Doodles. What do you suggest I use to make the Cheese Doodles with? Hi Kirsten, My first thought was to try using fondant or gumpaste to mold into cheese doodles coloring them with a yellow orange food paste and dusting with orange colored sugar or something to that effect.
My second thought, and this would make a more realistic Cheese Doodle, is to pipe yellow/orange colored meringue doodles. Then dusting with orange colored sugar or (not sure what would work best for dusting) Can powdered sugar be colored? I don't think so.
What do you think of those ideas?
