This cake brings back so many childhood memories of visiting the New York Bakery in my hometown in Connecticut. Our neighbors owned the shop so we had the privilege of a back stage pass to watch the show of cake decorating! It was fascinating! And of course there is the wonderful smell of baking, Italian rum cakes, Italian cheesecakes and the almond butter cream.
