mrs daphne loughrey my story

I started decorating cakes as a hobby practicing on dummies. Now I am onto my third wedding cake for a friend. As I am still just starting out I asked her to tell me what shape and colour she wanted.

She decided she wanted red and white square cake with dividers not pillars so I looked at few designs and came up with this one. It is a three tier carrot cake.

The week before wedding I cut out some small flowers about 150 of them, lol. Ibaked the cakes then crumb coated them. I put them in the freezer until two days before the wedding and then covered them with fondant.

For dividers I used thee square dummies and covered them black fondant. The flowers were arranged down the side of cake edible diamonds were inserted within.

The cake topper was very plain. A white bride and groom. The bride has a long veil which I added with some red diamonds down the back of it. It really gave it a lovely effect.

My friend started to cry when she saw it, which I will take as a compliment :-)
