subs for flours
by: Mary

I have a cake recipe that calls for cake flour 1 1/2 cup. I have all purpose flour. Do you have or know of a program that figures out the sub amounts. I know the standard is 1 cup minus 2 tablespoons.

Please help.

Mary

I love your cakes.

cake flour and all purpose flour substitutions
by: Lorelie

Hi Mary, The information below is from my baking book.

Substitute 2 tablespoons cornstarch for 2
tablespoons of flour in every cup.

To substitute cake flour for all purpose flour, use 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons cake flour for every cup.

Thanks for a great question and for you nice comment on my cakes. :-)
