What are the ideal sizes for a two-tiered traditional fruit wedding cake. I think three tiers would be over the top as it is a small wedding, but I would like it to look balanced and elegant. Would be grateful for your advice.

balnced tiers by: Lorelie
Hi Ginny. I hope I'm not too late in answering your question. I generally like a four inch difference between tier sizes. So a nice size for a small two tiered cake is a 12 inch bottom and an 8 inch top. Each tier between 4-6 inches in height. That depends on how many layers you are planning. But really the choice is yours. Do what you think looks good.
