Grain mill for grinding the wheat berries
Yes DECADENT, (yet healthy) chocolate cake!
When my kids beg me to bake a cake, I always make the Hershey recipe that you have on your site, but adapt it a bit for a far healthier recipe. I have a wheat grinder - a K-Tec grain mill - and grind my own fresh flour as I need it.
The ingredients are the same as for your chocolate cake, but I use 1 1/4 cups of whole wheat berries. I grind the wheat berries in my grain mill and then place the fresh flour in a large bowl along with the sugar, cocoa, baking powder, soda, salt, eggs, milk, water, vegetable oil and vanilla extract. Then I add the boiling water, and pour it into a greased 9 x 13 baking dish and bake for 35 minutes.
Because you are using fresh flour, you need to bake your cake at a cooler temperature of 325 degrees Fahrenheit and bake the cake for about 35 minutes.
Once the cake is baked, I usually make a glaze for the cake by melting 1/2 cup of butter, and adding 1/2 cup of sugar, 1/4 cup of cocoa and 1/4 cup of milk and then bring it to a boil. I pour the frosting mixture over the cake while it is still hot and then allow it to cool.
Of course, if you were going to make this healthy chocolate cake for a wedding, you would likely need to make a regular frosting and bake it in round pans.
The nice thing about this cake is it has a decadent taste, yet packs a lot of nutrition. :-
